Acting Fundamentals is a class designed for beginner and intermediate actors who want to gain a better understanding of (or to review) the fundamentals of acting: how to get present, how to define actions (or objectives), how to play tactics, and how to access truthful and authentic emotions. We will run a number of exercises to support being present and in-the-moment, some based on the work of Uta Hagen. We will also look at how to breakdown a scene to better understand tactical play while being in-the-moment. The goal is always to make your work more consistent and more compelling. This class is primarily off-camera; however, scenes (once rehearsed) will be shot on the final day.
This three-hour class is limited to 10 people and is closed to auditors.
